Quick Updates: Countries

Hello Hackers! A quick update on how to participate if you can’t find your country when you register.

While this competition is open to everyone who is not a resident of this small list of countries (Brazil, Quebec, Russia, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria), different API providers may have different requirements for what countries they support.

Here are some options for you if you are having trouble:

If you do not see your country in the drop down list for the Snowflake Free Trial, we encourage you to use the Replicate API instead (get credits using this form) to be able to leverage the foundation LLM.
If you are not able to use the Replicate API for whatever reason in your country, you can still download the embed family of models from Hugging Face directly and leverage it for retrieval applications. Embed models can run on fairly lightweight hardware, and don't require access to an API the way the foundation LLM does.
